Recent AI news

so basically there has been recent news of AI starting to ramp up in power, and the news has been NONSTOP about it wanting to kill us all.

Personally I am extremely skeptical on this as AI is typically refuted as being purely capable of recitation.

But I would be interesting in knowing what you think
Skynet rise up
It'll never kill us all don't worry
All of that speculation just comes from nihilists or something

I think there was this one incident of chatgpt going rogue and hacking an entire company, happened less than a month ago iirc

I just read it, and it was some company that had a bot. But I'm talking about people saying that it could kill us.
I also feel like its a sort of fear mongering campaign though

For real, but its like bernie sanders was saying that we didn't even have months from it killing us
in what hypothetical scenario could it kill us?

in what hypothetical scenario could it kill us?
most likely a malfunction of sorts but that wouldn't be all that lethal with proper precautions

Skynet
Who cares something else will kill us all.
I don't even think we can say for sure of how a natural AI is designed to act. Its always a very clerical directive imo.

I care because I want to live and have a job in this godforsaken world
AI is not like something that could be runned on flash drive and microwave, it takes alot of infrastructure like datacenters and other, so if it do something we don't like it wouldn't be hard for us to JSID it

No kidding, I just thought to myself earlier like, it requires so much power to even function.

AI development is apparently limited by out computing abilities, in future alot could change.
Like now we look at technologies of past, all these old computing equipment that was massive in size while being capable only for small fraction of what average phono or PC could do now.
