Tony Soprano always imagines himself as the modern John Wayne, the "strong, silent type", but in reality he is an impulsive selfish hypocrite, a narcissist and a sociopath who - just as Kupferberg said - did not improve at all after 7 years of therapy, and instead used his therapy sessions as a way to feel good about himself by whining about his problems, justifying his horrible actions and blaming everything on other people. All of his masculinity is a show off, he doesn't have the personality of John Wayne, he is a worse version of Janice with a penis. He revels in other people's misery, the greatest example of that being the scene where we find out that Janice had actually improved significantly after taking an anger management class and Tony, instead of being happy for her, starts just randomly brining up her son for no reason at all just to piss her off and see her lose temper again. He is the exact opposite of John Wayne, he is a narcissistic whiney little bitch ass douchebag trapped in the body of a 6'1" mafia boss. And the worst part is that this is literally the whole point of the Sopranos and everybody understood that in 2007, but zoomers are so sissified and braindead that they actually see these "men" who show ZERO masculine characteristics like Tony Soprano and Patrick Bateman as "chad sigma masculine alpha males".
