I remember being a specialed 13 year old who got a Switch day one and there were only like 7 games you could get at launch, so I ended up picking up this and 1-2 Switch
As there was nothing else to play and this boring piece of raisin got le 10/10 scores from "reviewers", I kept trying to convince myself that I was having fun with BOTW and I wasn't being bored to tears, even though all that was happening was that all my weapons kept breaking after like 10 hits and it kept raining non-stop
I got as far as the first divine beast and then Mario Kart 8 Deluxe came out, so I bought that and started playing it. I kept telling myself I'd go back and finish BOTW, but I never did... because it was a boring piece of raisin and deep down I knew it. I had more fun with 1-2 Switch over BOTW, and that game was a low effort coally game that should've been a pack-in title. That's how dreadful it was to play BOTW.

@Chud: No I'm not. I was 13 when the Switch launched and that was 6 years ago. There is no way I could still be 13.

@lifesucksthenyoudie: I enjoyed BOTW, albeit nintentards act like it is the holy grail when if it was on any other console and not Zelda it'd be seen as like a 6/10 or 7/10 game. The puzzles were pretty fun and the bosses were challenging enough, but I agree that the item breaking mechanic was super annoying.

Zelda has some of the worst most flamboyant persongy fans of any vidya game tbh. Its unfortunate because there are some sort of based things about Zelda lore

I also didn't like how there was no post-game. I think most zelda games do that but it leaves you feeling unsatisfied
