The term 1st world, 2nd world, etc was a propaganda attempt during cold war. Any country which support western bloc is considered as 1st world, regardless of their economic wealth, political authority, etc. Anyone who support eastern bloc is considered as 2nd world, and any pacifist state who's actually trying to maintain peace is considered as 3rd. These class divisions were meant to give label to certain countries so that they can either feel like they're in the "wrong side of history" or fighting for le (((good))) thing. Pretty similar as to how western-oriented countries in present day who will label anyone who oppose them or disagree with them as terorist state/group, etc. Really makes you think about how insecure these people are, huh.
