Description
During the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union, the Nazis did not always carry out genocide against the local population; often, they simply demanded that Jews and Gypsies be handed over. While Jews were frequently hidden -because they had integrated into society and were considered friends or even family by many - no one felt any pity for the Gypsies, as they were perceived as having absolutely no redeeming qualities.
