if you're asking about how to play the game in the first place just download byond from https://www.byond.com/download/ then register an account if you want then put byond://ss13.soyjak.st:8888 in your browser whenever the server's uphow do i play ss13 i never looked into it
if you're asking about the actual game itself you make a character, pick a job, do the job and then adapt to whatever stupid situation happens (if one even happens) or you can just go and fuck around its just a sandbox roleplaying game technically
if you play on bigger servers you might get a better experience but they're usually the bad ones
https://spacestation13.com/play/browser has a browser that just lists SFW servers or you can manually ignore every hub server that's nsfw
good options are monkestation although its full of trannies, /tg/station but they have the same issue and they're removing game features for no reason goonstation is pretty good but its the most different codebase and its still full of trannies and has weird cucked rules you can't say "bitch" for some reason
/vg/station is good too but its mostly dead and running baycode
You should replace the head of personnel's dog with a Gigaferatu that says "ID pending anporvool" whenever someone enters the HoP queue (he'll say it once upon entry, then again ~3 seconds later)
optionally, it'll also play an edited version of the original Gigaferatu MPA audio, as an audio cue to remind the HoP that something requires xis attention ingame
