Raped and all I got was this lousy shirt.
I read the some of LaVeys texts earlier this year - The Satanic Bible, Satan Speaks and a skimming of The Devils Notebook - and despite my grievances with his later writings, I find his philosophy and ideas to be based in beliefs similar to my own beforehand and afterwards to my reading. This is primarily due to it being rooted deeply in Objectivism, Materialism, Social Darwinism and Individualism, which I already believe in alongside Minarchism. Long and short, LaVeyan Satanism can be broadly put as - if slightly inaccurately - Libertarianism in an edgy coat-of-paint. Do as you wish in your own freedoms without "stepping on others toes".
>B-But the violence a-a-and the sacrifices.
Strictly and staunchly spoke down upon in this form of Satanism, unless of course it is extremely just in the eyes of the perpetrator. Take killing a pedophile, for example.
The ritualistic aspect I am mixed on, for I have not yet dipped my toes into it despite their harmless, and self-admittedly "fantasy" nature. To be brief, I don't have access to many of the listed equipments in the "DEVICES USED IN A SATANIC BIBLE" section of The Book of Bilial chapter in The Satanic Bible. Doing all that setup for what is practically the law of attraction in a trench-coat sounds quite tiresome. Final note, but I also find LaVey to be an interesting character in of himself outside of the movement. He lived a very peculiar life that made him just the fit for the job. From his musical endeavors to his former occupations, to what he indirectly caused through the various COS.
