Won’t imageboards like our beloved Soyjak Party eventually be legally required to verify every user’s age?

Australia is already banning under-16s from social media, while the UK has fined 4chan for refusing to implement age checks. Given that Soybooru in particular already functions as a social-media site of sorts, it will almost certainly end up being targeted too. At this point, it seems inevitable that governments will eventually start demanding ID or facial age verification from the Sharty.
Would mandatory age verification have literally any upside, such as finally getting cacas off the site, or would it just destroy anonymity while every minor bypasses it with a VPN anyway?
