I don't really get that. I KNOW I KNOW giving them attention is bad but the group is pretty much dead and all the news outlets have given them loads of attention.

I'm assuming the admins thought you were meta whining too much, and they basically forced the filters onto you so you stopped complaining. This has happened to other people.
