Anthem of the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro

In every moment lived
A truth we will find
In every forgotten event
A certainty will make us remember
In every minute that has passed
Another path that was discovered
In every fallen soldier
Another sun that rises in the sky of Brazil

Here we all learned how to live, demonstrating courage
For our ideal
Is something that not everyone can understand
In the fight against evil

To be a police officer
Is, above all, a reason for being
It is to face death
To show oneself strong
Whatever may happen

It is to face death
To show oneself strong
Whatever may happen

In every person encountered
Another friend to defend
In every action carried out
A heart ready to give thanks
In every ideal achieved
A hope for other missions
In every example left behind
Another gesture inscribed in our traditions

Here we all learned how to live, demonstrating courage
For our ideal
Is something that not everyone can understand
In the fight against evil

To be a police officer
Is, above all, a reason for being
It is to face death
To show oneself strong
Whatever may happen

It is to face death
To show oneself strong
Whatever may happen

In every moment of life
Our Military Police
Will always be exalted
In its centuries-old glory
In every corner of the state
Of this beloved Rio de Janeiro
We will make our battle cry heard
The eternal cry of a brave warrior

Here we all learned how to live, demonstrating courage
For our ideal
Is something that not everyone can understand
In the fight against evil

To be a police officer
Is, above all, a reason for being
It is to face death
To show oneself strong
Whatever may happen

It is to face death
To show oneself strong
Whatever may happen

Isnt military police in brazil just regular cops?
It is a militarized police force that handles most of the visible, street-level policing and requires a high school diploma; the Civil Police, on the other hand, is more investigative—generally operating after a crime has occurred—and requires a university degree. Despite the name, the Military Police does not police military personnel; that role is performed by the so-called Army Police.

But it’s not quite that simple; when a police officer joins the force, it takes a little while to reach the rank of "soldier"—though not very long. They have a military-style hierarchy and all that, and civil police and military police often clash from time to time due to obvious differences,Instead of precincts, they have battalions, and it’s the Civil Police that has precincts—so technically, the Civil Police is the regular police force; they don't even have to cut their hair.
