I'm kinda late but I read the book/comic and it was good, yeah, the author was a commie and imagined Karl Marx as her childhood friend but overall the story feels dramatic and the protagonist feels relatable in a way, like, she feels kinda alone and misses her family when she goes to Austria
And I like the artstyle in both movie and book, it looks pretty nice and simple
