Well, I think this is finally where I say goodbye.
I’ve spent enough time on this site to see it go through its ups and downs, but honestly, I can’t pretend I’m happy with where it has ended up. The UI changes have somehow managed to take something that was already familiar and turn it into an absolute chore to use. Every time I come back, something feels different, something has been moved, something that worked perfectly fine has been changed for no apparent reason, and I’m left wondering who actually asked for any of this.
Mustard, I genuinely have to question some of the UI decisions here. I don’t understand why things that were simple had to be changed into something more awkward. There was nothing wrong with the old layout in the first place. It was familiar, functional, and people knew where everything was. Changing things just for the sake of changing them doesn't automatically make a site better. Sometimes you really can just leave things alone.
And then there’s UTTP.
The constant UTTP bullshit has become another reason this place is exhausting to be around. Whatever entertainment people think they’re getting out of acting like this, it has done nothing but contribute to making the site feel increasingly hostile, obnoxious, and unpleasant. Instead of the site being somewhere people actually want to hang around, it feels like there’s always another argument, another stupid drama, another attempt to ruin someone's experience, or another group of people deliberately pushing things until everyone else gets sick of it.
At some point you have to ask what the point even is anymore.
I joined this place because it was actually fun. There was a community here, there were people worth talking to, and there was a reason to keep coming back. Now it feels like a combination of questionable UI decisions, constant drama, and people deliberately making the site worse for everyone else.
I'm not saying every problem is caused by one person or one group, because obviously it isn't. But when you combine the UI changes with the endless UTTP nonsense, the result is a site that feels completely different from what it used to be.
And that's really the frustrating part.
It didn't have to be this way.
A website doesn't need to constantly reinvent itself. A community doesn't need endless drama to stay interesting. And people certainly don't need to spend their time trying to piss everyone else off just because they can.
So yeah, I'm done.
Maybe the site gets better eventually. Maybe the UI gets changed again. Maybe UTTP eventually gets bored and moves on to something else. Maybe none of that happens. At this point, I honestly don't care enough to stick around and find out.
Thanks to the people who actually made this place enjoyable while it lasted. There were some genuinely good times here, and I'm glad I got to experience them. Unfortunately, those good memories aren't enough to make me want to keep putting up with everything that the site has become.
So goodbye.
Goodbye to the old UI.
Goodbye to the endless arguments.
Goodbye to the UTTP bullshit.
And goodbye to wasting my time wondering what questionable UI change is going to appear next.
It's been a hell of a ride, but I'm getting off.
