Fun Fact with the topic being history

The John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich popularized the modern sandwich in England in 1762, though he was not the first person to put food between bread. As people used bread to hold food long before the 18th century, in the first century, BCE, a scholar named Hillel the Elder made a Passover meal with lamb and herbs inside unleavened matzo bread, but, Ancient Romans and people in Mesopotamia also ate meat with flatbreads centuries earlier.
Medieval Arabic cookbooks from the 10th century (such as Kitab al-Tabikh by Ibn Sayyar al-Warraq) already recorded recipes for stuffed breads and sandwiches known as bazmāward and awsāt.
