Prank that my brother did

So, one of my brothers friends had people who lived in the same unit as the friend and one of those people bought a Marvel lamp (i will call him Adrian) and he unboxed it and because my brother found it extremely gay, he started spraying salt water to oxidize it faster and overtime it started rusting out. Adrian came out and asked who did it and my brother kept telling adrian that it was the salt air because he lived next to the beach, adrian didn't believe it so he kept asking what did it and my brother kept saying it was either the salt air or the "salt dogs"!
