why are finns depicted as asiatic mongols?

i never got why native finns are often called asiatic mongols, i've thought they always had a nordic phenotipe? why that though?

Because they are Uralic, which is not Indo-European

Depends on the Finn, look at some of them and you'll see a decent amount do not look Nordid

It's mostly a joke doe, most would agree Finland is white.

It's mostly a joke doe, most would agree Finland is white.

It's more of a joke with the Magyars, some Finnish people actually do sometimes look more Asiatic unlike Magyars
