Shopping for a new monitor since my current one is 768p and I was wondering if it'd be worth trying 4K instead of going for 1080p like I usually do.
I have a high end GPU and don't really play video games anyway so the performance impact is irrelevant, I'll mainly be using it for web browsing.
Not interested in 1440p because I want perfect integer scaling for 1080p content.

Just keep in mind that its pixel density that matters. A 4k tv looks terrible, meanwhile a 4k monitor looks great

Well aware, my laptop has a 13in 1080p display and it looks very nice. The reason I'm considering 4K would be so I could get a bigger monitor for more screen real estate without lowering the pixel densityJust keep in mind that its pixel density that matters.
