Two former Nazis actually escaped to the Middle East after WW2. One became an advisor to Syrian dictator Hafez Al-Assad for his secret police and lived in a basement decorated with Nazi memorabilia for the rest of his life. The other escaped to Egypt, learned Arabic, got an Arab name and converted to Islam and lived in an impoverished neighborhood in Cairo for the rest of his life.
