I saw posts that were drawn fairly well that were deemed coal and posts that seemed low effort that were described as gemmy, is there a more specific criteria?

Simple, coal is what I harshly disagree with or I don't like to see, while gem is what I strongly agree with or I like to see. There is high effort coal, no denying it.

There are some gems I don't agree with but do make up for it in some other way

gems are what the general soyim's consensus determine is good, funny, and consistent with their values
