All I can tell from the whole clippy pfp thing is that it's meant to protest against intrusive data collection and company policies, which sounds honorable enough.

The problem lies in what effect will that have at all. Sure, it's a """protest,""" but what does it change? Companies aren't going to give a shit if you change your profile picture online, they have to be hit in the profit margins or major public eye to start caring. And even in the public eye this doesn't change anything, microsoft for example has done more damage to themselves with the whole AI nonsense they've been shilling than this has ever done to them.
