On a separate note, "it would be selfish of you" is probably one the best suicide prevention lines. Most suicidal people (that I've met at least) tend to be very anchored to the world and emotional, and often whatever little connection they have to the outside world is what's keeping them away from ACK-ing. The ones that go through with it tend to do so out of sporadic impulse and not because it's actually over and they have no future, so drilling them in with dumb shit like "think of the mess that it'd be to clean up after you SLF" can snap them out of a potential suicide moment.I've been suicidal before but I'd never talk about it, let alone go through with it because that'd be extremely selfish of me.
