Any namefags here taking meds?

Currently, I’m taking antidepressants right now to help with my mental health, but I want to know if anyone else is taking meds as well

I hate the concept of antidepressants and taking medications for mental illnesses in general. Drugging away your emotions instead of addressing whatever's causing them seems wrong to me.
The concept of being reliant on medication being available to function disturbs me too.

I acknowledge that it can be necessary in some cases, for example incurable and serious conditions you can't just ignore like schizophrenia.
I've also heard of people getting their shit together while on meds, then finding out they don't need them anymore because the environmental factors that caused their poor mental health aren't present anymore.

But personally I'm never ever trying antidepressants on principle, despite struggling badly with anhedonia for over a year at this point.
