Music's Gold Era

Music from 2008 to 2017 had a lot of soul, it was original. The golden era was around 2012 with Pitchfork and 4AD covering many indie band performances. (Perhaps they still record live music? I'm not sure.). There were remarkable Electronic Gems. Shoegaze wasn't mainstream yet. Hipsters didn't stomp or clap, they actually remixed and recorded on 4 tracks. The Japanese vocaloid shoegazers were producing spirited masterpieces.

I'm quite surprised DKFM and SomaFM are still around after 15+ years.

Somehow the SomaFM stream gives songs a different sound. Like the comfort of AM radio, but a bit more echoy and less distorted.

There have been two artists I discovered in the 2020s that I've let into my being. Very special.

They say when you hit 30, you're statistically likely to have heard the funniest joke, and had your hardest laugh. So perhaps heard your best mixtap too
