A little inspiration never hurt anyonecopying a popular style will always look tacky doing your own thing and being unbothered is keyedShow quoted text
no ik a guy who makes it work but idk how to explain it i havent talked to him in like 4 years. most people do look tacky though like theres this guy who i walk past every day who always wears the same black leather jeans and graphic tshirt and it looks bad
I like accessories. I think subtlety is key to looking good in any outfit.
That being said, I know absolutely nothing about fashion, I just try to be myself

On succeeding at things you'd like to accomplish
Over time, I've found that to attempt any boring-ish activity, you can't rely on motivation alone. The initial random bursts of inspiration that might carry you for a week start to wear you thin and stop coming around as often. Lacking this motivation; no work ever gets finshed, or started, since this is what you're used to using to progress.
<--
I've come to realise that you have to be ahead of yourself if you want to achieve anything in life. You have to have non-negotiable tasks you do daily, you have to set things up days in advance if you want to meet some criterea to allow yourself to work on a project or do an activity.
<--
It's impossible to decide in the moment that you're going to give it your all on a boring menial task that is quite important but feels optional after 5pm. Free will, in this sense, does not exist. If we had the ability to chose how we felt about things in the moment, then we'd all be billionaires, but we'd also be nothing different from a computer, so it isn't a bad thing and you shan't dwell in this.
Instead - understand that just how your old habits keep you held back, new habits will propell you forward at light speed.
<--
The art having non negotiable daily tasks doesn't lie in the task itself; it's that it acts as an anchor for your emotional state and keeps you centered. If you never stop doing that 1 task ever day, you're reinforcing positive habits overall. You can't just exercise one day and never go back to the gym; exercise is only benefical as it compounds over time.
You can't make the conscious decision every day to work out, because this gives you all the room in the world to make an excuse not to go.
<--
Instead, you have to set your life up in a way that means you just expect to be exercising that day. You know you have to be at the gym for 6am so the thought of not going doesn't even manifest, since this is what you do every day. I use the gym as an example here, but the same rule applies for everything.
<--
If you have exams coming up, and you don't usually study until it's probably the week before, then you have to do something about that. It's easy to spam 10 hours of studying in one weekend, but did you even learn anything doing that?
Instead, make it so you study just for 30 minutes every day. Make it frictionless, make it easy. Then when you're done, do what you always do, play video games, use the sharty, whatever.
Then you can add more study time as you get used to the habit. The beautiful thing about this is, like your habit of spending too long on the internet, your habit of studying daily will be hard to remove.
You won't want to play video games until you have studied. No motivation required.
And in this sense, you have removed your free will again. Your will to slack off has been quelled by a small change in your daily life.
<--
Anything is possible really. There's just alot of fluff and nonsense in this modern world that makes it super easy to forget about your goals. You can't just remove the obsticle, you have to be cunning and be ahead of your own emotions.

I more toxic example of this would be my recent ussage of the booru's forum.
I got into a habit of checking threads around 11pm just before I should have gone to sleep, and ended up using the site for well over an hour.
It's very easy to create bad habits, especially when they are novel and exciting.
So try to see the good in whatever work you wish you were doing. If you can find any ounce of joy in the boring side of things, who knows how far you will go.

1) go to your settings and turn off distracting stuff. id also recommend turning off auto-watchI'm just not gonna open general and ignore my notifs that aren't mentionsShow quoted text
FUCK
2) if you have a old laptop, perhaps consider just converting it to Linux and using it for your social media stuff. its what i do and it makes it easy for me to just put away the laptop (getting rid of the distractions) and do something better on my work computer or offline.
