Day 1 - To be honest, my first impression was about what I expected. We landed in what looked like a tropical version of Jakarta, and immediately, half of my group was separated because customs didn’t like the random lion costume one of the high schoolers packed.
After 3 hours of settling that out, we ended up having to leave 5 bags of supplies at the airport and we had no clue what would happen to them.
Next, we went to this chicken place and it tasted amazing, better than anything we have in America. After that, we went back to the airport to try to sort out the lost luggage, and one of our guys got detained so we left him there for some reason GEG
Finally, we went to the hostel where we are staying. We arrived there and it was alright. People running it are the nicest people I’ve ever met, but the rooms are pretty nasty. They have 2 restrooms and 2 showers, and they ALL have a problem with em. Also, there’s a huge bug problem, but that’s consistent throughout the entire country. That’s not to mention that we don’t have cold water, and I couldn’t find my body wash. Oh well.
Anyways I’ve mostly enjoyed it so far so I’ll post again tomorrow if I feel up to it
